The Odd Couple

Every year, I buy my mom two sets of season tickets to the Fort Smith Little Theatre. And, every year, she takes me as her plus one so it's a win for everyone. If you haven't been to the Little Theatre, you're really missing out.

This past Tuesday we went to a special performance of The Odd Couple. You have three more opportunities to see this play. You should take at least one of those opportunities. Look, I've even linked the event page.

Tuesday's was extra special because it was invite-only so it made me feel fancy. Also, there were door prizes. I won a travel coffee mug. It leaks, but I still won.

Most everyone knows the plot of this Neil Simon classic. If you aren't familiar with Neil Simon, do yourself a favor and read his plays. He is hilarious. Barefoot in the Park, which the Little Theatre put on several years ago, is one of my favorites. He also wrote the screenplay for The Out-of-Towners, one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. This interpretation of The Odd Couple is a little different because it's a predominantly female cast, which includes one of my friends, Erica Page Nelson, who did SUCH A GREAT JOB!!!! The dynamic between the two unlikely roommates is a little different than what we're accustomed to with the male version. I loved it.

So, if you don't have anything to do this weekend, go see this play. Then, go see the next one. And the one after that. The Little Theatre is an entirely volunteer operation. Everyone does a fantastic job. Show them some love and, more importantly, support.
