We're so crafty.
We're not only crafters of words, we're crafters of, well, crafts. Our Etsy store, Tipsy Mockingbird, is getting a face lift. Frankly, I'm tired of making infinity scarves. So, I'm switching gears a little bit.
Here's a sneak peek.
Pictured: "Boy, Bye" Valentine heart small throw pillow, everyone's favorite magical family inspired* sweater, I've had it...."UP TO HERE" hat, and the beginnings of a sassy cross stitch. I taught myself how to cross stitch while I was sick.
I've recently become obsessed with duplicate stitching and color work, hence all the words. It's challenging, but a lot of fun. The good thing about duplicate stitching is, it allows me to alter existing sweaters rather than having to make the sweaters myself. Yep. We're upcycling. Or whatever the kids are calling it. I buy sweaters from thrift stores, add some flare, and sell them cheap. See, when I make a sweater, I have to spend a lot of money on material and about six years of my life. So, handmade sweaters, while possible, come at a premium price. Upcycling slashes the price and the turnaround time.
I'm also working on aprons, cool things with men's neckties, random crap bags, totes, greeting cards, coffee mugs, and beauty products. Stuff like lotion, lip balm, and bath bombs. I'm also working on stuff for men; I'm calling it Dapper Like Darcy. As of right now. Because I just now came up with that. Right now, just beard cream and pomade. I can't personally attest to the quality of the product, but husband likes both and the label, which I also just came up with, is adorable. In my head, anyway.
The relaunch is happening on February 1. Just in time to buy cool, handmade gifts for Valentine's Day!
To clear out some inventory, everything currently listed on Etsy is ON SALE!
It's cold. Buy a hat. Oh, and the Space Fight* Dolls; they're on sale, too. Pew. Pew.
So, check out the current inventory and keep an eye out for our relaunch. If you're local and need hats or scarves, I have some set up at Lippincottonia. You probably don't know what or where that is and that's fine. The point is, I can meet you somewhere. You'll save on shipping and I won't have to go to the Post Office. The Post Office is one of my least favorite places.
*This is me avoiding Copyright issues. I got an email about the Gryffindor scarf I had posted. I've never been more excited in my life. It may have even trumped the David Sedaris eyebrow compliment. I like to pretend JK herself was checking out our Etsy store. Not likely, but a girl can dream.
